The bracelet was a class at www.1stopbeadshop.com, and while I enjoyed the class, I found it a little frustrating. The instructor used a lot of "lingo" so to speak in the class that those that had not done chain maille before did not "get", and there was one person in the class that had taken previous classes and so she and the instructor bonded while the other two people, myself and another, sort of struggled on by ourselves. I've had other classes at the shop though that were wonderful, so this is the first one that wasn't up to my expectations, so that is not too bad. AND again, it was more dedicated time to be able to learn how to do this, rather than finding a block of time at home to do so, which can be difficult at times. Especially with this summer!

I'm participating, albeit a bit late in the August break ( link to the side). Here is the link for Flicker group Each day i'll try to post a photo that sort up either sums up the day, or just suits my fancy for that day. For Saturday, this is photo of the garden area outside Children's Hospital in Columbus where I've spent some time with my granddaughter in the last few days.
I've also gotten a chance to knit a little bit in the surgery waiting room, my 9th pair of fingerless mitts for the Ravelry group challenge 11 pairs of FG in 2011.(Ravelry Forum)

Jewelry designs
Here is are two finished pairs of earrings and the start of a turquoise necklace. The pair to the right is weathered copper rings with blue-green and brownish lampwork drops added. I bought the beads etc at One Stop Bead Shop in Dublin. I also made my daughter a matching pair, but they are in Jamaica with her.
The second pair is sterling silver chains with mother of pearl drops. This actually was a rescued pair, I lost one of the earrings on a business trip, and so took the one that was left apart and made two. I like the original pair better, but Coldwater Creek did not have them anymore and I didn't want to toss the one I had left. Finally this is a necklace that I am working on, with weathered copper chains and turquoise disks. It will have dangling charms also, made of Swaroski, turquoise chips, charms etc.
On another note, I haven't been here yet, but found this brochure about a restored Frank Lloyd Wright home in Springfield, OH. The Westcott House This is definitely something I need to go tour.

Jewelry and Sunday
Today I spent the afternoon, since my homework assignments are not posted yet for the week, organizing my studio and creating some jewelry. Will post pictures soon!

I'm totally hooked on spinning now. I got the wheel last fall, and didn't have a lot of time to really start spinning, but last week, I finally started. I'm addicted, it is even more relaxing than knitting, and the sound of the wheel is actually meditative. So here are a few pictures ! The first few show some koolaid dyed roving, in reds, white and burgundy tones. The basket is some roving I bought at the fiber festival that Young's Dairy farm sponsors in the fall.
